Dr. Bouchra Taib is a Research Scientist at the department of Endocrinology, metabolism and Diabetes at Johns Hopkins School of medicine. She earned her PhD in nervous system from the University of Montreal, Faculty of Medicine, Canada, and her Master of Bio-engineering, (specialization in Health Biotechnology), from Paul Sabatier University, Toulouse, France. Her Research interest is to investigate the brain regulation of energy homeostasis, particularly the intracellular mechanisms underlying the metabolism of macronutrients (glucose and fatty acids) in the hypothalamus, and the role of these mechanisms in maintaining homeostasis under physiological and pathological conditions, such as Type 2 diabetes. She is also Vice President of Communications for AWIS greater Baltimore Chapter.
She truly believes that in Morocco, scientific research should not be a luxury, but rather the first of the conditions for a controlled development. An Intelligent cooperation between the scientific diaspora in the developed countries and their country of birth will positively contribute to the development of Morocco
