Dr. Bouchra Taib


Dr. Bouchra Taib, General secretary, is a Research Scientist in neuroendocrinology. Her research interest is to investigate the role of the brain in the control of energy homeostasis as well as the underlying mechanisms in maintaining homeostasis under physiological and pathological conditions, such as obesity and Type 2 diabetes. Bouchra also served as Vice President of Communications for AWIS Greater Baltimore Chapter which aims to inspire leadership, research, and solutions that advance women in STEM.
After earning her Master degree in Bioengineering, specialization in Health Biotechnology, from Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse, France, and her PhD in Nervous System from the University of Montreal, Faculty of Medicine, Canada, she continued her research at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, an Ivy league university, before working as a Faculty research scientist at the department of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.
She recently decided to return to Morocco to contribute to the development of scientific research in her native country. She is currently an assistant professor and researcher at the Ibn Tofail University, Kenitra, while remaining active within the AMCN.
